 Mauritius beach Le Morne

Located on a peninsula on the west coast of Mauritius, Le Morne beach is at the base of the spectacular Morne Brabant mountain, which is on the Unesco World Heritage list. There is a public beach in Le Morne, and it's very close to the road that runs down the coast.

Le Morne beach is a gorgeous, expansive stretch of white sand backed by towering casuarina trees and lapped by crystal clear water with excellent visibility, making it a prime spot for scuba diving against the backdrop of Le Morne mountain. Le Morne is a stunning location that is often regarded as the best kite surfing destination in Mauritius, if not the globe.


Le Morne beach is a hotspot for wind and kite surfers because of the favorable conditions they may enjoy nearly all year round. There are a ton of annual tournaments that bring together athletes from all over the world, like the Kiteival.

Le Morne beach is still a great spot for a dip, but it becomes crowded on the weekends and holidays.

A top is required for sunbathing, however nudism is not allowed. To avoid the crowds, come to Le Morne Beach between 8:00 and 11:00 in the morning, or between 13:00 and 17:00 in the afternoon.

 Ships, whales, and other marine life have all met their fate in the dangerous waters near Namibia's northern coast due to its strong currents, deadly fog, and shifting sandbanks.
